About MuseumBlogs.org
MuseumBlogs.org is a directory of museum and museum-related blogs as well as a space for re-postings and roundups. The purpose of the site is to raise awareness and increase the authority of blogs focusing on museum issues. Authority is used by search engines to filter results. The more links, the more authority and more visible a blog will become.
The Directory
A publicly editable, moderated directory provides a central website for listings to museum and museum-related blogs.
The Blog
We encourage re-posting from qualified blogs and bloggers. The aim of MuseumBlogs.org is to drive visitors to other museum blogs and increase their authority. If you're interested in re-posting or creating roundups which focus on the museum blog world, please feel free to contact us for password and log in information.
Who and Why?
This site was developed by Ideum. We're a small design company that develops interactive exhibits and websites for museums. The idea for MuseumBlogs.org came about after we developed a survey of museum blogs & community sites in March of 2006. One of the major outcomes was that the vast majority of museum blogs lack authority which was covered in a follow up post on the Ideum blog. It's our hope that MuseumBlogs.org will help increase communities’ awareness and authority.
Policies
MuseumBlogs.org is run as a public service and encourages community participation. The site does not accept commercial advertising of any kind.

My last day at the IMA did nothing for my stomach.
After a few last minute tasks in the morning, Meg, my internship mentor for the summer, and I strolled over to our escape vehicle from the great indoors. A single key, a nine-person van and one destination: MUG n’ BUN Drive-in.

With Art Basel around the corner, this just in from Lisa Ruyter in Vienna:
When I was commissioned to do the art for The Armory Show 2004 catalog, I wrote an introduction that was a rhapsody about my love of art fairs. Not so many years before that, I began showing at

I AM A FASHION ADDICT.
It all started at an early age. As a young girl growing up in Southwestern Indiana, my Aunt Donna was far and away the most fashionable person I knew. She owned a few designer handbags, quite a few pairs of Ferragamo shoes, and an extensive jewelry collection.

The IMA has a new installation in the Efroymson Entrance Pavilion and I can’t remember the last time a work of art has brought me such child-like bliss. Every time I see it, I want to lie in the middle of the Museum’s entrance—arms and legs spread snow-angel style— and just

This won’t be a long post, because I’m exhausted! It’s a good tired though, and I would not give up the last 48 hours for all the sleep in the world. Just yesterday morning I was gearing up for the art parade in Indianapolis, and now I’m in Denver at

Went along to the opening of the 5th China International Gallery Exposition (CIGE) here in Beijing on Thursday. Held at the snazzy central China World Trade Centre it gets cleaner and better organised each year. Sadly the Chinese works on display were mostly overpriced and familiar.

I’ve been obsessed with the forecast this week. Almost every hour from sunrise to sunup, I’ve visited weather.com to assess the temperature and rain chance for Saturday. On Monday and Tuesday the forecast called for rain. Yesterday thing improved significantly when the chance for rain dropped from 40% to 20%. Today,
