About MuseumBlogs.org
MuseumBlogs.org is a directory of museum and museum-related blogs as well as a space for re-postings and roundups. The purpose of the site is to raise awareness and increase the authority of blogs focusing on museum issues. Authority is used by search engines to filter results. The more links, the more authority and more visible a blog will become.
The Directory
A publicly editable, moderated directory provides a central website for listings to museum and museum-related blogs.
The Blog
We encourage re-posting from qualified blogs and bloggers. The aim of MuseumBlogs.org is to drive visitors to other museum blogs and increase their authority. If you're interested in re-posting or creating roundups which focus on the museum blog world, please feel free to contact us for password and log in information.
Who and Why?
This site was developed by Ideum. We're a small design company that develops interactive exhibits and websites for museums. The idea for MuseumBlogs.org came about after we developed a survey of museum blogs & community sites in March of 2006. One of the major outcomes was that the vast majority of museum blogs lack authority which was covered in a follow up post on the Ideum blog. It's our hope that MuseumBlogs.org will help increase communities’ awareness and authority.
Policies
MuseumBlogs.org is run as a public service and encourages community participation. The site does not accept commercial advertising of any kind.

Anyone who knows me knows I love a good mixtape. ( I still call them mixtapes, even though now it’s a mix cd, or an iTunes playlist, or even a muxtape). I love making them, I love thinking about the connections between each song that I select, and I

I am ready. Ready to have my house back. Ready to throw everything out of our holding greenhouse. Ready to empty the root cellar. Ready to get on with Spring. By April the urge to throw every surviving plant in my house outside is all consuming. I’m tired of them demanding

A few weeks back I read an interview from the weekly German newspaper Die Zeit with french designer Philippe Starck. I don’t normally make it a habit to read weekly German newspapers. I prefer the bi-weekly ones much better. You know, more objectivity, less fluff.
Starck is a superstar designer, if

It is an introspective sort of day. I am wrapping up an art appreciation class tomorrow with a final exam and am busy trying to get a grasp on everything happening in IMA’s Nugget Factory. It is so easy to get all wrapped up in the day-to-day hustle and

Get up on the dance floor and boogie til you just can’t boogie no more. No designer symbolizes the 70’s like Halston. Disco dresses, halter tops, beads, and sequins. Lots of Halston red. Niloo Imami-Paydar (IMA Curator of Textile and Fashion Arts) has put together quite a show of pieces from
