About MuseumBlogs.org
MuseumBlogs.org is a directory of museum and museum-related blogs as well as a space for re-postings and roundups. The purpose of the site is to raise awareness and increase the authority of blogs focusing on museum issues. Authority is used by search engines to filter results. The more links, the more authority and more visible a blog will become.
The Directory
A publicly editable, moderated directory provides a central website for listings to museum and museum-related blogs.
The Blog
We encourage re-posting from qualified blogs and bloggers. The aim of MuseumBlogs.org is to drive visitors to other museum blogs and increase their authority. If you're interested in re-posting or creating roundups which focus on the museum blog world, please feel free to contact us for password and log in information.
Who and Why?
This site was developed by Ideum. We're a small design company that develops interactive exhibits and websites for museums. The idea for MuseumBlogs.org came about after we developed a survey of museum blogs & community sites in March of 2006. One of the major outcomes was that the vast majority of museum blogs lack authority which was covered in a follow up post on the Ideum blog. It's our hope that MuseumBlogs.org will help increase communities’ awareness and authority.
Policies
MuseumBlogs.org is run as a public service and encourages community participation. The site does not accept commercial advertising of any kind.

There’s been overwhelming positive feedback about the idea of a Click! meetup during the upcoming Target First Saturday, so let’s do it! I’ll be giving a Click! gallery talk at 8 p.m., so I’m planning to be around from roughly 7-9 or maybe even a little later. If you participated in

As silly as this seems, it’s just not real until the signs go up and here they are. I will admit, I was more than a little giddy seeing these unwrapped and going into the lobby case and Mary Jane (pictured above) was humoring me a bit by letting me

As with many things for Click!, we’ve made life a little difficult, but for good reason. This Saturday (June 28) we’ve organized a great panel discussion that will be held on Governors Island. Yup, you read that right: Governors Island. A little while back, I was contacted

Wowzer! If you were one of the 3344 visitors who cast 410,089 evaluations for Click!, you know what a commitment it really was. I can’t say this enough: Thank You!
This was a very dedicated group of people who gave a lot of time to the process. On average

We’ve been watching our little evaluation meter today and we hit 51.3 evaluations a minute this morning! This is a pre-thank you to all of you out there who are active participants in this crowd and, of course, a quick reminder to let everyone know evaluation ends this Friday, May 23.

I forgot to plug this project in my post earlier today, so I am posting this short one. If you haven’t visited the Brooklyn Museum’s site to take part in Click! be sure you do it soon. An innovative crowd-curated exhibition, allows you to evaluate on-line submissions for the

We are very happy everyone is logging in to evaluate submissions for Click! A Crowd-Curated Exhibition, but our technical resources are a bit unmatched for this kind of traffic. If you are trying to evaluate and finding that images slow to load, hang tight. We are working on the problem and
